Nominations

Nominations for the above positions open on Tuesday 22 July 2025 and must be submitted using the official nomination form, available from the following locations:

Nominations open at 9:00 AM on Tuesday 22 July 2025 and will only be valid if the official Rūnanga nomination form is completed by the candidate and supported by five registered members of the hapū who are aged 18 years or over. Completed nomination forms must be received by Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa by 5:00pm on Friday 8 August 2025. Late or incomplete nominations will not be accepted.

Registrations

Any descendant of Ngāti Awa who is not currently registered with Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa and who wishes to participate in these elections must register by 5:00pm on Friday 8 August 2025 (subject to confirmation by the Whakapapa Committee). Registration forms are available from the locations listed above or by emailing register@ngatiawa.iwi.nz

Election

An election will be held if more than one nomination is received for a hapū. If required, the election will take place during September 2025. Voting will be available via postal or internet methods, with the voting period closing on Saturday 27 September 2025. You will be notified in writing if an election is required.
